DIY Lice Repellent
Though we are still enjoying the summer heat, it’s surely going to come to an end. When the cold weather starts to pop up around us, many of us grab a small jacket and maybe even a hat. This can lead to lice which in turn leads to a very itchy and messy situation! By using certain essential oils that lice deter from, you can be on guard and proactive to an infestation.
Since I started working with doTERRA oils, I have learned about so much that essential oils can do for both your health and body. Check out this DIY lice repellent recipe below!
DIY LICE REPELLENT
Ingredients
5-8 drops of one of the following: Pine, Rosemary, Lemon, Melaleuca (Tea Tree) or Lavender essential oil
Your favorite shampoo
DIRECTIONS
1. Drop 5-8 drops of your oil choice from above and mix with your usage of shampoo for the wash.
2. Massage the mixture onto your scalp and work to the ends of hair so that every strand of hair is covered.
3. Leave on for up to 30 minutes to allow the essential oils to penetrate thoroughly.
4. Rinse and dry hair as normally.
By adding this mix into hair, it kills both the eggs and living lice so that you can use this as a precautionary measure or to actually get rid of lice if you are having an infestation. By using this treatment, you can be sure to deter unwanted lice from your life.
