1.Spearmint

My top three essential oils

I wanted to share my three top essential oils wit you all. I keep spearmint in my bathroom for several uses I’ll share with you here …

I wear this a few days a week as my hair perfume! I will add a few drops to my hand and massage into my scalp and through my hair.

It’s milder than peppermint and is a nice addition to your filtered water or in sparkling water.

This oil is known as the go to oil when you need to speak more confidently – massage into your chest + throat with a little fractionated coconut oil.

I apply 1 drop to tongue before scraping to not only cleanse my mouth but I find it also helps the coating (called the agni) scrape off the tongue in a deeper way.

I love adding 2 drops to my lipgloss tubes for plumping + fresh breath.

It makes a beautiful aromatic all purpose cleaner by adding 10 drops spearmint + 10 drops lemon + 2 tbsp OnGuard Cleaning Concentrate to a spray bottle topped with water.

Add a drop to the inside of the toilet paper roll to have spearmint fill the air with every twirl.

Add 2 drops to the inside of your shower for a spa like shower steam.

Diffuse my pixie dust blend: 3 drops orange, 2 spearmint + 1 lemongrass.

Oh and spearmint chocolate chip cookies anyone?

2.tangerine

tangerine oil

The best for adding to your water – seriously you’ll love it!

And it comes with a high amount of cleansing limonene to help filter out toxins and create that healthy glowing skin! I add 2 drops tangerine + 1 drop chlorophyll to my 20oz water bottle each morning.

Not sure what limonene is? It’s the constituent found highest in pure citrus essential oils – it’s a powerhouse if you look it up or read here for example.

Because of it’s cleansing properties – it’s the ideal essential oil to clean your produce – especially berries! Add 2 drops to a bowl of water along with 1 pump of OnGuard Soap and let your produce soak for 10 min.

Watch what comes off it it!

The sweet flavour of Tangerine essential oil comes in handy when you need to add a tangy kick to baked goods. Here’s a delish tangerine cranberry scone recipe and a tangerine fruit dip recipe to try. I also love adding 2 drops to plain organic greek yogurt – so yummy!

For cleaning – tangerine pairs well with Spearmint as I suggested in the all purpose cleaning recipe above. Here’s another fun DIY: Spearmint + Tangerine Garbage disposal refreshers

3.Lemon

lemon oil

I know I don’t need to say much about this one since it’s such a staple – seriously, I go through a bottle almost every month. doTERRA sources lemon from Italy where the highest limonene content in lemon is found. This is why it’s one of the most cleansing essential oils. It can be used in all the ways I mentioned Tangerine above so with this BOGO, you can keep one on each floor of your house!

Cleansing drinking water: I alternate this with tangerine and green mandarin by adding 2 drops to a large glass or stainless water bottle.

Dressings + Marinade: Add 2 drops to salad dressings + chicken/fish marinades. (fave marinade is EVOO, 2 drops each lemon + basil oil, salt + pepper). I also love baking with it – here’s my lemon blueberry muffin recipe and my fave keto lemon blueberry loaf recipe. If you’d like to continue using it in the kitchen, here are some more recipes I love to make with the lemon essential oil: Zucchini Tomato Basil Salad, Quinoa Lemon Asparagus Salad,  Lemon Berry Chia Pudding, Lemon Strawberry Yogurt Bark

Lemon is like nature’s ‘goo gone’: Add a drop of it to remove sticker adhesives (like labels on picture frames), sticky gum and to remove marker stains!
