Sunblock Essential Oil-Style

’tis the season for us to start slathering ourselves in sunblock to protect from all of those harmful rays beaming down. As someone who likes to be out in the sun and living an active life, I don’t want to have to worry about getting a sunburn or caking my body in sunblock made with questionable ingredients- you know the ones I mean- the ones you can’t read or pronounce.

As most of you know, I have recently started working with DoTerra as another facet to living a balanced, clean, and holistic life. I wasn’t planning to take on anything else but when I was introduced to the company I instantly connected with it and felt as though it would be a great addition to not only my own life, but also to my clients’ lives.

Check out this awesome DIY sunblock from DoTerra, featuring their Hawaiian Sandalwood oil.

DIY Sunblock

Ingredients

¼ cup coconut oil
¼ cup Shea butter
1 teaspoon carrot seed oil
2 tablespoons of zinc oxide
2–3 drops Hawaiian Sandalwood oil

Instructions

Melt coconut oil and Shea butter in a bowl over warm water.

Add carrot seed oil and zinc oxide and mix together.

Add in drops of Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oil and stir.

Place in a jar for storage. Allow to cool for 30 minutes in fridge.

Now you can smell like the beach without having all of those nasty additives slathered all over you!
